At Explore & Learn Family Daycare, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where you and your child can feel comfortable and confident.
What to Bring
To ensure your child's comfort and safety, we kindly request parents to provide the following items:
- Nutritious meals and snacks: Parents should pack meals and snacks for their children to be consumed during their time at Explore & Learn. Please include a variety of nutritious options to meet your child's dietary needs and preferences. In addition to the food provided by parents, we offer cooking experiences throughout the week.
- Drink bottles: Parents are kindly requested to provide drink bottles for their children, filled with water or age-appropriate beverages, to ensure they stay hydrated throughout the day.
- Nappies and wipes: For children who are not yet toilet-trained, please provide an adequate supply of nappies and wipes to ensure their comfort and cleanliness.
- Change of clothes: Accidents can happen during playtime or while eating, so please pack a spare set of clothes in case your child needs a change.
- Sun-safe hat: Please pack a sun-safe hat for your child to wear during outdoor playtime. A wide-brimmed hat or one with a legionnaire style that covers the neck and face provides excellent sun protection.
- Sun-protective clothing: It is important to dress your child in loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-coloured clothing that covers their arms and legs. Fabrics with a high ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) are ideal for blocking harmful UV rays.
- Sunscreen: Before dropping off your child, please apply sunscreen with a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 30 to exposed areas of their skin.

While parents are responsible for providing some items, Explore & Learn ensures a safe and sun-smart environment for children with the following measures:
- Outdoor play guidelines: Miss Deb, who is trained to supervise outdoor play and enforce sun-safe practices, follows the outdoor play guidelines. We limit outdoor time during peak sun hours, provide shaded areas, and encourage children to seek shade when necessary.
- Sunscreen and insect spray application: With parental consent, Miss Deb can assist in reapplying sunscreen and insect spray if needed throughout the day to ensure your child's continued protection from the sun and insects.
- Educational activities: We sensitively educate children about the importance of sun safety through age-appropriate activities and discussions, promoting awareness and healthy habits
